Nampa Train Museum

For our March outing we had lunch at Hong Kong restaurant in Nampa, followed by a tour of the train museum.

The old Nampa train depot.

This is a collection of prize winning, hand carved wooden trains in a display case.

This scene depicts passengers waiting to board their train.

This is a replica of the Dewey Palace Hotel which stood on First Street South, a few blocks from the train depot, until it was demolished in 1963.

A display of locks and keys collected by Floyd Hall, a local locksmith. Most of the items are railroad related.

And finally, we got to tour the caboose and see how the railroad employees lived on the rails.
